Oceana Park Welsh Stud reserves the right to 'withdraw' from sale or 'alter' prices of our stock without warning. Once a deposit is placed on a sale horse, this is legally committing to the purchase of a horse for the agreed sale price in full & the said horse is then removed from the sales list. Deposits will NOT be refunded if the purchaser defaults on the sale of the horse & the horse will be re-advertised for sale. Horses will not leave Oceana Park Welsh Stud until they are paid for in full or unless otherwise arranged. Horses/Ponies sold sight unseen will require a vet check at the buyers discretion and cost. Horses/Ponies sold sight unseen will be sold as they stand.
We will now be offering on farm leases to some of our mares, so their lines can be utilised by outside studs. In this situation the mares stay here for their pregnancy and birth and upon weaning of their foal, the leasee takes posession of the foal. We believe that this on farm lease will be ideal for interested parties who do not have the time, experience or facilities to support a pregnant mare and raising of a foal. Any interested parties should contact us for further details.
Oceana Park Welsh Stud notes the importance of raising healthy youngstock. All of our youngsters are fed a balanced diet from weaning or from birth if their dam's require assistance to maintain weight. This feed is a properly balanced diet created on Feed XL so each youngster gets their daily required energy, forage, vitamins and minerals. We do not overfeed our youngsters to become fat at such an important age. In young horses increased weight on the frame can result in metabolic bone disease, contracted tendons as well as degredation of the joints and limbs resulting in unsoundness. Whilst some of our purebred youngstock will be futurity entered we do not support the weight of the ponies, especially the Section A's contesting the futurity, we think this is horribly irresponsible of breeders to put their ponies through. You don't see a lot of really good younger show ponies out and competing in later years.
